Judgment Steals Joy

Judgment Steals Joy

December 02, 20251 min read

I'm trying something new this week.

Nearly every Thursday, I reach out to a friend of mine (or five) and read them my newsletter draft for feedback. Bless them all.

And for the third week in a row, a different friend suggested the same thing:

“You should record your voice.”

I’m heading into my biggest summer of teaching, and storytelling is a skill I want to sharpen, not just for writing, but for teaching. Sharing truth out loud. Communicating clearly. Guiding athletes through both the physical and the emotional slumps we all go through.

So instead of reading this week’s newsletter…

I’m asking you to listen to it.

I won’t do this every week (unless y’all riot), but I wanted to give it a try. So here goes nothing. Throw in your headphones, or put it on speaker for the whole house to hear, and click the link below:

For those who listened…

I also wanted to share some old photos of Jerry’s Bait Shop, so you can see exactly where all the magic happened. :)

(Bri: Insert Jerry’s Bait Shop photos here)

And small correction from the story:

I misremembered a detail.
Spirit Daddy had been coming in for 29 years, not 49.
But 49 definitely sounded cooler. 😂

I’ll see you next blog. 🔥
