Don't Change (Just Adjust)

Don't Change (Just Adjust)

Below, you'll see a diagram of the difference between a Steph Curry miss vs a Steph Curry make.

As you can see,

IT IS LITERALLY NOTHING.

When we mess up or miss shots, our natural instinct is that a drastic change must happen.

We escalate to panic.

And we convince ourselves that there's something seriously wrong.

But most of the time... there's not.

It all comes down to just studying yourself. Just observe.

Are you really that far off?

Or did you just miss that time because failure is the frustratingly inevitable truth of how we get better at all things?

Just shoot again.

Keep your rhythm.

Don't change.

Adjust.

And remember that after a lifetime of tiny adjustments, the best shooter in the world still misses 60% of the time.

So, you will miss again.

But with this approach, you know what you'll be better at?

Adjusting.

And ain't that all life is? :)

Go get a bucket.

And remember I'm always in your corner. Reach out anytime.

P.S.

When I've failed a couple of times in a row, one thing I like to say to myself is:

"Law of averages. Next one's gotta be it."

You'll be surprised how many times you can say that sentence and it doesn't get old, it just gets mean.

;)
